Nashville’s history will be unveiled in a whole new way this Saturday, September 13, at Paint the Town! For one night only, six of our city’s most iconic landmarks will be revealed as original works of art — created exclusively for this event by standout local artists in partnership with the Chestnut Group.

We’ve kept the painting locations under wraps until now… and on Saturday, you’ll be the very first to see them come to life. Each piece will be auctioned to benefit the Preservation Society of Nashville — so arrive ready to raise your paddle, claim your favorite, and help preserve our city’s creative and cultural legacy.

The Locations & Artists
Centennial Park & The Parthenon
About: Nashville’s “Athens of the South” takes center stage, featuring the world’s only full-scale Parthenon and the towering Athena Parthenos. This is culture, wisdom, and civic pride immortalized in art.
Artist: Sarah Clinton, a Nashville painter known for evocative works that connect memory to place with dynamic compositions. Exhibited throughout the city, including GEODIS Park and Nashville Airport.

The Station Inn
About: Bluegrass royalty. This humble cinder-block retreat is where legends like Dolly Parton and Alison Krauss made magic—an intimate shrine to live music.
Artist: Cam Dolak, Nashville-based painter crafting heartfelt works that feel like a gift and celebrate everyday people.

Percy Warner Park & Entrance
About: The twin stone staircases, built in the 1930s, welcome generations into nearly 3,000 acres of rolling hills—a gateway to Nashville’s wild side.
Artist: Ellen Parker Bibb, award-winning designer and painter, president of The Chestnut Group. Her work brings depth and elegance to beloved landscapes.

Your Favorite Nashville Place
About: Commission your favorite Nashville place brought to life in a custom painting, crafted in collaboration with the artist to capture your unique story and emotional connection to the city.
Artist: Khaki Stanford, Nashville-based visual storyteller. Collaborative, investigative approach. Works in diverse visual mediums.

Union Station
About: The grand Romanesque clock tower that once welcomed presidents, soldiers, and dreamers—now a symbol of Nashville’s indomitable spirit at 125 years.
Artist: Judson Newbern, acclaimed watercolorist and former Vanderbilt planner, brings architectural detail and history to life. Served as president of The Chestnut Group.

John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge
About: Stretching across the Cumberland, this elegant steel truss bridge—one of the world’s longest pedestrian crossings—links Nashville’s past and future, and offers the city’s best skyline.
Artist: Virginia Ferrante-Iqbal, a fine artist and medical illustrator, whose cityscapes burst with color and energy. Exhibited in Nashville and Chicago.

Downtown Presbyterian Church
About: America’s rare Egyptian Revival church, rebuilt in 1851, turns heads with bold lotus columns and a story rich in Civil War history and faith.
Artist: Jeanne Pickard, Tennessee-based plein air artist inspired by her life between Franklin and California.
