With the city’s population increasing by over 15% since 2010 and historic districts accounting for a substantial portion of that growth, Nashville now faces the complex task of balancing preservation with development. Rising property values and economic pressures have created a challenging environment for historic property owners, while outdated preservation plans and unresolved recommendations have left the city without a clear, modern roadmap.

The Preservation Society of Nashville (PSN) was founded to address this critical moment—championing a future where preservation and thoughtful development coexist in harmony.
